PRIMARY CARE
Ashley Bryson, MD
Dr. Bryson is a native of Eugene and earned her undergraduate degree at The University of Oregon. She then went on to medical school at Oregon Health and Science University. She is board certified in Family Medicine. She spent 8 years as a rural family doctor performing full-spectrum care not only treating patients in the clinic but also delivering babies in the birth center and caring for them in the hospital. Her passions include women's health, prenatal and non-surgical obstetric care, preventive medicine and chronic disease management. Outside of work, Dr. Bryson enjoys spending time with her family and enjoys going to concerts. |
Michelle Kaplan, MD
Dr. Kaplan attended University of Judaism for her undergraduate degree in Bioethics, and Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California for medical school. She is board certified in both Family Medicine and Addiction Medicine, and has been practicing in Springfield for 20 years. When not seeing patients she enjoys crocheting, singing, and spending time with her family. |
David Knowlton, MD
Dr. Knowlton earned is medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in Piscataway, New Jersey. He is board certified in Family Medicine and has been practicing in Lane County since 2004. When not seeing patients he enjoys spending time with his family, working in his garden, and playing guitar. |
Francis “Jerry” Kovac, DNP
Jerry is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Jerry completed his Masters of Science in Nursing from Austin Peay State University in Tennessee, recently finishing his Doctor of Nursing Practice at the University of Alabama. He has taught at both Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Skyline Medical Center. He has many years of experience as a Family Nurse Practitioner and has a special interest in Gender Affirming Care and LGBTQ2+ Medicine. When not working Jerry enjoys volunteering at HIV Alliance and spending time with his husband exploring the Pacific Northwest. |

Karrie Patterson, PA-C, Chief Medical Officer
Karrie is a Board Certified Physician Assistant. An Oregon native, she attended Oregon State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science. She then attended Idaho State University where she completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies. She returned to rural Lane County to care for the community she grew up in, and is the Medical Director at G-Street. Karrie sees patients from birth to seniors. When not seeing patients she enjoys spending time with her husband and their three children. She loves watching her children play sports and spending time outdoors introducing her kids to the beauty of Oregon. |
Kalli Phillips, ND
Kalli is a primary care naturopath licensed by the state of Oregon. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon, and while there, she discovered Naturopathic medicine. She is grounded in the stance that medicine can be practiced in cooperation with nature and still maintain strict scientific integrity. She trained at the oldest of the Naturopathic medical schools, National University of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon. When not in the office, she is most likely found pedaling on any and every surface or backpacking in the Sister’s Wilderness. She is an avid cyclist who has competed for decades in road, track, mountain bike, and cyclocross racing. |
Nathan Showalter, PA-C
Nathan earned his Master's of Physician Assistant Studies from Idaho State University. He is from Boise, Idaho, and is very excited to be part of our community. He served as a combat medic in the Army and then went on to obtain an undergraduate degree from Boise State University in Health Science. When not seeing patients, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their Goldendoodle, Benji. Nathan is currently accepting new patients. |
Chelsea Tang, PA-C
Chelsea was born and raised in Eugene, and grew up participating in competitive gymnastics, attending OSU, where she competed at the college level and graduated with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science. She earned her Master’s in Physician Assistant Studies at the Pacific in Sacramento, CA. When not working she enjoys spending time with her husband, two sons, and labradoodle, Jax. |
Urgent Care
Eric Allard, PA-C
Eric attended Oregon State University for his undergraduate education. Prior to pursuing his graduate studies as a physician assistant, he worked as an EMT in Salem for 5 years and as a CNA in the ICU for 1 year. Upon completion of the Physician Assistant program at Idaho State University, he returned home to Oregon and is happy to be able to practice medicine in his home state. Eric emphasizes a holistic approach to care that focuses on each person’s unique needs and enjoys caring for individuals of all ages. Outside of the office, he enjoys cooking, cycling, hiking, and working on crafting the perfect cup of coffee. |
Sarah Bastida, FNP
Sarah began her medical career as a birth doula, working in both the hospital and home birth settings. She then worked in the Emergency Department for 7 years as an RN. After her time spent in the ER she wanted to transition into medicine that addresses the whole person and became a Nurse Practitioner. In her spare time she enjoys being outside backpacking, hiking, biking, and camping. |
Anna "Annie" Hancock, PA-C
Annie is a Board-Certified Physician Assistant. An Oregon native, she attended Lewis and Clark College where she earned a Bachelor of Art in Biology, then attended Idaho State University to complete her Master’s of Physician Assistant Studies. When not seeing patients, Annie enjoys spending time with her boyfriend and exploring Oregon. |
Chiropractic
Erik Gurule-Long, DC
Erik became a massage therapist in 2011 specializing in therapeutic deep tissue massage. In 2016, he received his doctorate in Chiropractic medicine also from University of Western States in Portland Oregon. Erik utilizes a variety of techniques to evaluate and treat patients including: Drop table, Activator, manual adjustments for spine and extremities, instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization, myofascial trigger point therapy, deep tissue massage, and myofascial release, as well as rehabilitative exercise programs. In his down time Erik enjoys disc golf, camping, and tabletop roleplaying games. |
Occupational Therapy
Sara "Betsy" Gaffney, OT
Betsy Gaffney is a Licensed and Registered Occupational Therapist. She moved to Oregon after completing her Master of Health Sciences in Occupational Therapy at Augusta University in Georgia. As an OT, she has worked with every population from start to end of life and believes that every person deserves to enjoy activities that are important to them regardless of physical ability. When not seeing clients, Betsy enjoys renovating her Airstream with her partner, spending time with their dog, and learning new creative skills. |
Psychiatry
Philip Williams, MD
Dr. Williams is Board Certified in Internal Medicine as well as Psychiatry. He attended Oklahoma Christian University of Science and Arts in Oklahoma City for undergraduate work, where he majored in biochemistry and liberal studies. He went on to attend the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, also in Oklahoma City. He completed an internal medicine residency and practiced as an internal medicine physician for eight years before returning to school, this time attending Yale University to complete his psychiatric residency. He then attended UCSD to become a fellow in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Dr. Philips takes a special interest in caring for the underprivileged in our community. He does not accept outside referrals, keeping his patient base in the integrated model at G Street. When not working he enjoys gardening, movies, and travel. |

Amber Jensen, QMHP-R, CADC I
Amber Jensen has a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix and holds her QMHP as well as a CADC certifications. Most of Amber's experience has been working with people with trauma backgrounds and co-occurring disorders. Outside of work, Amber enjoys anything that combines adrenaline with the outdoors. She enjoys climbing, rappelling, zip lining, white water rafting, and riding motorcycles. She has four children and two grandbabies, who make her world much more complete. |
Kasey Kendrick, QMHP
Kasey Kendrick has a Master's degree in Social Work and a Bachelors in Public Health, both from Pacific University. He is a QMHP working towards his clinical licensure. He is an Army veteran, has worked in crisis intervention, as well as on an interdisciplinary team providing folks with SPMI the care that they need to remain in the community. In his off time he enjoys spending time with his longtime partner, gardening, playing with his dogs, shooting traditional and olympic archery, and playing D&D with his childhood friends every Thursday. |
Tawnya Severe, QMHP-R
Tawnya Severe is a Clinical Social Worker Associate under the Oregon Board of Licensed Social Workers and earned a Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Southern California. She has been using her counseling skills and compassionate client care for nearly 5 years and enjoys working with a variety of client populations. Outside of work Tawnya enjoys volunteering and promoting mental health and well-being at local youth organizations. Her favorite past-times are making greeting cards, spending time with her fur babies, and zoom visits with her 2 children and 4 grandchildren in California. |
Shawna Smith, QMHP-C, CADC-I, CGAC-r
A native Oregonian, Shawna was born and raised in Beaverton. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of Oregon, and her Masters Degree in Psychology from Southern New Hampshire University. She specializes in treating co-occurring disorders and is passionate about working to support the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. When not at work she enjoys kayaking, rock hounding, and reading science fiction. |

Jodi Feagaimaalii, QMHA
Community Health Worker Jodi Hecht is a Qualified Mental Health Associate and Certified Community Health Worker. She attended the University of Oregon to earn her Bachelor of Science in Sociology. Jodi has many years of experience in human services and is known to be kind, empathetic, and patient. Jodi takes a person-centered approach to every interaction and takes pride in helping others reach their goals. When not seeing patients, Jodi enjoys spending time with her family, traveling to the coast, hiking, weight lifting, and watching/playing sports. |
Isabella Stretch-Mendoza, QMHA
Community Health Worker Isabella Stretch-Mendoza is a Registered Qualified Mental Health Associate and Certified Community Health Worker. She has worked in support of mental well being for nine years and worked with clients of all ages. She believes all feelings are valid and that every creature brings value to the world. Those who know her describe her as empathetic and a good listener. When not with patients, she appreciates time in the wilderness, visiting with loved ones, and meeting new dog friends. |

Genick Chavez, CADC II
Genick Chavez is a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. With 17 years of sobriety as a recovering addict, he brings invaluable experience and dedication to his work. He feels privileged to be in this line of work where he can continue making a positive difference, and witness the profound impact of reuniting families and helping individuals transform their lives. When not working Genick teaches boxing and kickboxing and has competed in combat sports. |
